Tomato Chutney

Ingredients:

  • 550 g Tomatoblend
  • 2 red onions
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon powder
  • 120 ml red wine vinegar
  • 1 apple
  • 75 g raisins
  • 1 red chili pepper
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 50 ml honey
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Preparation:

1. Peel and slice the onions and peel and chop the apple into small cubes. De-seed the chili pepper and finely chop. Press or finely chop the garlic.
2. Add the olive oil to a medium-sized pan. Once the olive oil is heated, add the onions and cook until translucent. Add the garlic and cook briefly, making sure it doesn’t brown.
3. Add all remaining ingredients and stir well.
4. Allow to gently simmer for 45 minutes until thickened.

Tip: goes well with sliced meat and cheese.
